Can you spot the difference?

Have a go at a sample question. The lessons teach you to look past the character to the details that matter.

Sample question · based on Beginner lesson 01Pick an answer

This Charizard ex is from Pokémon 151. The same set also has a Charizard ex numbered 006/165. How do you tell which one you are holding?

Correct. A familiar character can appear in many entries. In Pokémon 151, Charizard ex 006/165 and 199/165 are distinct entries; the number helps you choose the right one. And remember: special does not automatically mean valuable.

The real tests have 50 questions per level, with explanations after you submit.

How it works

Turn your interest in cards into informed decisions.

01Understand

Identify the card and inspect the copy.

Sets, sports-card years and products, editions, rarity, condition and care.

02Research

Find evidence, compare markets and plan the trade.

Rookie claims, numbered parallels, genuine signatures, global markets and online auctions.

03Decide

Test your reasoning before committing money.

Compare the right copies, question headline prices and decide when to buy, hold, sell or walk away.

Before you begin

A few useful answers.

Do I need to own any cards?

No. The free lessons use card pictures, diagrams and practice scenarios. You can learn before making a purchase.

Can I take the test first?

Yes. Each level has a 50-question multiple-choice assessment. Read the lessons first or take the test directly.

How are assessments marked?

The four main course trials require 40 correct answers out of 50. That's an 80% pass standard, with a percentage and explanations after submission.

Do I receive a certificate?

Yes. A submitted, saved result of at least 80% earns a personalised Trading Card Mastery certificate. Open it from the results page or My certificates to print or save as a PDF. Earned records remain after retakes. These are independent course certificates, not accredited qualifications.
